Yeti

July is World Watercolour Month. I love to watercolour so this is a great excuse to show you some tips and tricks to create a Yeti to Party Christmas card using the Watercolour Pencils. Today's card uses the Yeti to Party stamp set. It's adorable & perfect for birthdays and Christmas!
This Yeti jumped out at me in the Jul-Dec Mini Catalogue cause it's so darn cute! It can be found on page 38 of the catalogue. And on the next page you will find the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder. For this card I've added some White Craft Ink to the embossed Shaded Spruce cardstock using a Sponge Dauber to add the ink to the raised trees. It adds a layer of interest to your card. Have you tried adding ink to an embossed image, drop me a comment below to let me know.

In the above photo you can see the trees that I used both Granny Apple Green that is very close to the Parakeet Party ink used to stamp the trees and Garden Green. Mixing pencil colours can expand the colours you have access to. I did the same with the mountains, mixed Balmy Blue and Cajun Craze together. There are 2 packs of Watercolour Pencils available from Stampin' Up!. If you have both packs then you can mix and match the colours.

To add colour using the Watercolour Pencils is adult colouring! Fill in as much of the image you want with the pencil(s). Add more pressure but not too much if you want a portion to be darker. Next step is to decide if you want to soften the lines or colours. If you do, like I have on this card, you would use a Blender Pen to add liquid to the Watercolour Pencil lines to blend the colour. A word of warning if you use Basic White cardstock like I did, be careful how much you blend or how hard you press down with both your pencils and Blender Pen or you will damage the cardstock.

Christmas Test

Have you started thinking about Christmas cards or making them yet? I figured that if I can make at least one or two Christmas cards each month that means there are less I need to make come November when I look at the list I'm sending cards to! An easy way to create Christmas Card is using the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack.
This card pack includes multiples of the cards. In total there are 54 cards: 6 each of 6 designs in 3" x 4" and 6 each of 3 designs in 4" x 6". The card pack also includes 2 sheets of stickers, 4 acetate overlays, and 2 laser-cut sheets to embellish your projects.
This easy card was created using the card pack along with the red card from the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. You can create 20 cards really easy with these two products and can add other items from the Santa Express Suite if you'd like. May I suggest the coordinating designer series paper? For today's card I layered the candy cane card onto the card base. The cards are 4.25" x 6.25" so that you don't have to cut down the 4" x 6" card from the card pack. The sentiment "it's the most wonderful time of the year" is cut from one of the 3" x 4" cards. I'm keeping the top part of the card that has a pile of presents on it for another project. Not sure what the project is but it's nice to keep the pieces for when you think of the best use of it! That's where the red and white stripe strip is from, another project that I trimmed down a 4" x 6" card. For the white tag you could use some Basic White cardstock but I used the center of one card to die cut using one of the labels from the Seasonal Labels dies. What do you think of this card?
